October 2015 Newsletter

A warm welcome to all our new students who have recently joined the academy. 🙂

Sharing my passion in all things creative is something I love to do and in doing so, I’ve not only accomplished my dream in opening my own studio, I’ve also had the pleasure in meeting some amazingly talented artists, crafters and hobbyists and make some lovely friends on my journey so far.

It has taken me a little while to juggle classes around to see what is wanted and what works for the people of Cosham, but I feel after only 4 months of working every day, this thriving academy is so needed!

Sadly, in the realization of the arts slowly diminishing within our National Curriculum, I feel I need to share my skills with the children of Portsmouth, to excite and inspire our next generation, inviting other artists and creatives to pass on their skill too.  We don’t just cater for children, in fact 60% of our students are adults of all ages too!  So, if you are interested in getting involved in our academy, to share you skill or just be creative by joining a session, please do get in touch either by popping in, emailing us at theartacademyportsmouth@gmail.com or calling on 07985 777 293.

Winter Wonderland Exhibition

We are now working on our new project ” Walking In A Winter Wonderland” which will be an exhibition of all our students’ work from across all classes held at the academy.

The exhibition will run throughout the month of December, opening on Sunday December 6th especially for the students and families to be the first to walk into our Winter Wonderland!

It will then be open to the public to view our work and enjoy Christmas arts and crafts.  During your visit, small children will be able to sit in our sleigh and have a photo taken.  Opening times for the exhibition will be on display in our window by the end of November.

We are now ready to take party bookings for all ages, so take a look at our new Parties information (click here).
